Public Perception of Kink and BDSM with Dirk Hooper

At this Sex Talk Tuesday our guest moderator was Dirk Hooper (@dirkhooper). We discussed the public consensus of what BDSM is and how the public identifies with it. Many of the participants stated that they thought that 50 Shades of Grey has been a poor reflection and over-simplification of the BDSM lifestyle. Some of our followers also expressed concern about the taboo that still surrounds BDSM and the concern that it is abuse rather than consent.  Many agreed that one of the biggest issues is that many in the public don’t understand the different between abuse and the BDSM lifestyle and that is what facilitates the need for education.
