Women in Porn came back with a bang to SexTalkTuesday!

The second Women in Porn #SexTalkTuesday was amazing! We had a fast paced and often controversial talk between industry experts. Kelly Holland, Managing Director of Penthouse, took a controversial stance that the intersection of sex and violence in modern media, both mainstream and adult, is due to a fast shift in gender roles. Cindy Gallop, creator of MakeLoveNotPorn.com, took a second wave feminist position that sex and violence is a result of a need for gender equality in the adult industry. Ashley Fires, performer, spoke about the responsibility of performers in a culture where sex and violence are becoming more pervasive. Fred Lane, represented the conservative position, and spoke about the responsibility of the industry to educate our youth.  Everyone discussed hegemonizing porn by mainstream media. HBO being the primary example, and their video “Its not porn, its HBO” began this hot bed discussion. This live event was hosted on MindBrowse.com.
