Women in Porn Discuss Discrimination in Adult Entertainment on Mindbrowse.com

We had a fantastic discussion on our live Women in Porn mindbrowse.com event. Our topic was discrimination and how women in adult have been discriminated against. Vicky Vette shared some very personal insight into the discrimination she has gone through in her life, from not being allowed to volunteer in animal shelters, to being shunned in her neighborhood that eventually led to her moving. Julia Ann spoke about porn being a part of who we are and the importance of accepting who you are and how that helps normalize it. Sheri spoke about the assumptions people make when they find out you work in adult, and that they feel they can take sexual liberties with you because your industry somehow means your are sexually available to people. Kelly Holland invigorated everyone when she said we all need to be proud and know that every time we speak out about what we do, that we are contributing to an overall conversation that is affecting global culture.
