Sophie Delancey Joins Us On Sex Talk Tuesday To Discuss The Misconceptions Of Disability And Sex!

Sophie Delancey is a porn creator and advocate devoted to spreading the message that porn can be both beautiful and ethical. She has worked with numerous Feminist Porn Award-winning companies as an executive, publicist and director. After a series of strokes brought on by a vertebral artery dissection in late May of 2015, she has taken some time away from work in the adult industry to focus on sexuality and disability.

She has written for numerous sexuality/porn sites, has appeared on many radio shows/podcasts and has spoken and taught workshops at numerous schools, conferences and events, including delivering papers at the 2013 and 2014 editions of the Feminist Porn Conference under the supervision of Tristan Taormino. Her focuses include using real couples in porn, responsibility in transparency and outreach to pornographic audiences, including marginalized bodies and sexualities in porn and the intersections of feminism, authenticity and aesthetics in porn.

As an educator, her workshops focus on understanding fantasy/porn literacy, porn and relationships, DIY porn, negotiating and discussing desires, oral sex techniques and body positivity. She has also recently begun work as a sex and sexuality counsellor through Skype and in-person sessions.

She also co-hosts a monthly sexy storytelling event in Toronto called Tell Me Something Good with Samantha Fraser at the Gladstone Hotel as well as its podcast offshoot and is one of the hosts of Sex City Radio on CIUT 89.5 FM.

Sophie will be leading a discussion about people’s misconceptions about sex and disability, hoping to change the discussion and frame disability as sexy.
